Cebu Bloggers Society: From a budding bloggers perspective

The budding blogger

People love celebrating moments that touches the heart and warms the soul. We Filipinos are no exception to it. I remembered the cheers my parents for my first walk, my first cry for a heart break and the deafening laughter on the floor with close friends. Those were some of life milestones stored in memory as if it were yesterday.

I was born and raised away from the civilized metropolis.

I was born and raised away from the civilized metropolis. It was a whole new world for me stepping into the concrete jungle as well as the cyber world since 2013. With my timid nature, I had a hard start before I pull off in juggling the virtual and real world perfectly. I can be a fast learner too said to myself as I mark a new milestone.

Being a new kid of the block at the Queen City, I barely know anyone. Luckily, I learnt from  Even though my blogging skill is still at its budding phase, I took the courage to apply. I tried my luck at the Cebu Bloggers Society (CBS), the premier blogging organization in the Visayas .

With a sheepish grin with hands crossed-fingered, hoping for the best.  Voila! I made it.That is one flabbergasting moment and another milestone in my early life in the city. With the pool of talented Cebuano bloggers under its roof I felt like a drop in the ocean. Yet that feeling subdued with the warmth everyone made me feel.

Cebu Bloggers Society is a whimsical array of personalities

Just so you know, the Cebu Bloggers Society is a whimsical array of personalities and you can hit it off from the start. I paused and daydreamed this could be an ideal family, but, like any family it is not a perfect one. We have our fair share of down times and hard knocks too. But what matters is at the end of the day, we still have each other getting stronger and ever united. Hence, it was a family found not perfect but united.

When I became part of the organization, I was at my early twenties. Bringing only fresh life experiences as young professional, new city kid , young educator and a big dream to make a name of my own as blogger. An eager beaver as I am, I volunteered at Cebu Bloggers Society initiated projects over the years.  To learn, to grow and to mature with the avenue like this organization if offer I am so grateful. For all the training, exposure and life lesson that shaped me as a person.

Personally, I love being behind the spot light. I was there when we introduced to Cebuano bloggers the first edition of CBSTalks , the Cebu Food Crawl and the in-house training of members. Yes, it a tedious job but it brings me so much joy  and satisfaction to serve and see ideas became a reality.  Opportunities like this are moments that allows me to grow as a blogger and as a person which are priceless. Now, I am humbled and  honored to be Cebu Bloggers Society Board of Trustee.

Grooming to be a person you wish to be takes time, waiting, patience and being persistent.

Looking back from being the budding blogger, I grown so much  now with the influence of the organizations beliefs and principles.  Cebu Bloggers Society instilled to me the sense of pride being a Cebuano and for Cebu, encouraged me to be the best in my craft and passion and  value the importance of collaboration, cooperation and family. Above all, the strangers I once knew are now my  family and friends for keeps!  I believe those are my takeaway from Cebu Bloggers  for over the years being a true blue Cebu Bloggers Society member.

My decennial wishes for Cebu Bloggers Society

As Cebu Bloggers Society unfolds another chapter, I have 3 wishes  for the organization I call my family.

First, I wish for more decades for the organization.  CBS stood as one strong family for the past 10 years of its existence, time -tested and proven. Cebu Bloggers Society is now an established institution and I want to see it aged gracefully and like wine  to age like a fine wine. The best yet to come!

Second, keep the warmth and tight the bind. One distinguishing trademark of Cebu Bloggers Society is its camaraderie and comedy. A hallmark of CBS blogger is its ability to inject humor and reject dull moments yet keeping its composure. Also, the bind of friendship should be fasten among its member as we age people come and go but the with CBS , once a CBS member always a CBS at heart and in spirit. Love to see this legacy of the organization continue to the coming years.

Lastly, I wish to open more doors to budding bloggers. When I entered this esteemed organization,  my only passport in were my dream , my raw talent , my passion and commitment. I wish to hear more successful stories from this organization for the coming years. As institution, to produce and be the home of Cebu’s top bloggers and influencers to bring more honor and pride to the organization.

Those where my aspiration for the organization as it marks a decade, a milestone. Moments like the ones that touches the heart and warms the soul that matters. I’m loud and proud to be a CBS blogger always!
